In addition there is a mobile library which visits West Hallam fortnightly.  This offers fiction and non-fiction books for adults and children, large print books, books on tape and books on CD - free to under 18s with a small charge to people over 18 and a selection of local studies books and information.  For details of stopping places, dates and times please click here.



West Hallam is served by the Ilkeston Rural Safer Neighbourhoods Team, which is based at Ilkeston Police Station.

Waste and Recycling


Details of waste collection dates in West Hallam (black bins, recycling and garden waste, as well as special services such as clinical waste) can be found on Erewash Borough Council’s website.


There is a household waste recycling centre (Civic Amenity site) operated by Derbyshire County Council at Manners Industrial Easte in Ilkeston.  This is open every day of the year except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.  For opening times etc please visit Derbyshire County Council’s website.
