West Hallam Community Speedwatch Launches
Great news for the many residents who have been complaining about the speed of some motorists in and around West Hallam.
The Parish Council has purchased the equipment necessary to set up our Community Speed Watch. We have a volunteer co-ordinator, Rob Hare and we have several volunteers who have had training. The first two speedwatches took place on Saturday 1st June with the Police in attendance.
Rob Hare, Co-ordinator said that we had various false dawns but the process now started was hugely successful and relatively easy. All of the volunteers attended bar one but we do need more volunteers to enable us to do more checks.
If you would like to become a volunteer, you would need to do a short training session by Teams or Zoom. Hi Vis vests and equipment are provided.
Please contact either Carol Hart on carolhart19@btinternet.com or 07900673077 or our parish clerk, Louise Barber on contact@westhallam-pc.org.uk or 07986740189 if you are interested or want to know more about being a volunteer.
Two SID'S, Speed Indicator Devices, have also been installed, one on High Lane West and one on High Lane Central. The cost covered by the previous Police and Crime Commissioner for Derbyshire grant.
